What we have here is a porcelain Famille Verte rice bowl and matching spoon that were manufactured in the 1960s-1970s in Jingdezhen, a city in China that has been making porcelain for over 2000 years. This pair is mainly a turquoise color and have the Mun Shou pattern which usually has images of bats which are symbolic for good luck, chrysanthemums which are symbolic for wealth and scrollwork lotus flowers which are symbolic for purity and perfection as well as yellow bands with a colorful greek key design and colorful bands of square petals. Also featured in this design are 4 Chinese characters "Wan", "Shou", "Wu", and "Jiang" which roughly translate to the Imperial Birthday wish: "May you have ten thousand longevities without boundaries.".
