This is a combination that would draw crowds anywhere, but you'd hardly expect it at a serious concert conducting the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra in "The stars and stripes forever," is Harry S. Truman, better known as a former president of the United States. The violinist at left also is well known in another field he's a comedian Jack Benny. The concert raised about $50,000 and nearly erased the orchestra's deficit. Benny [played two solos "Zigeunerweisen" by Sarasate and Mendelssehn's violin concerts in E. Miner. Truman also conducted the national anthem. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 03-23-1958.
