Type D Pattern >--> Condition: Very Good - Very Good Plus Blade Length: 7.0" TEXT GOES HERETEXT GOES HERE --> Offered here is a British Type D Army survival knife and sheath. The type D survival knife were developed in the 1950's. They were made by several manufacturers including Joseph Rodgers, Egginton Brothers and Sheffield Knives. This one is a J. Adams Sheffield. Overall, this survival knife is in Very Good - Very Good Plus condition. The guard is securely attached to the tang. The three rivets securely fasten the wood grip panels. They have some light discoloration. The grip panels have handling marks and some discoloration. The right side panel has a crack running alongside the top. The wood is still securely attached. Most of the finish still remains. There is some verdigris on the knife from the leather sheath. The spine and sides have light handling marks with some finish loss along the leading edges. There are no nicks or dings on the blade edge and it appears to have its original factory edge. The tip is intact and comes to a sharp straight point. The original finish still remains. The left side grip panel is marked with the serial number "1278214" over the J. Adams logo "JA", next to the date of manufacture "1988" and a broad arrow. The right side grip panel is marked "SHEFFIELD / ENGLAND". The scabbard is in Very Good - Very Good Plus condition. It looks custom made. The belt loop is intact and functional, there are no rips or tears and the stitching is sewn tightly. The rivets are all securely fastened. They all have verdigris surrounding them there they meet the leather. The retaining strap and snap are functional. They too have verdigris. The main body has light handling marks and scuffs with some light scattered wrinkles. The finish is mostly all intact and is starting to darken with age. There are no visible markings. This knife and sheath will be a great addition to your British survival knife collection, or a knife collection in general.
