Antique 13 Star American Parade Flag Gauze Centennial Medallion 2.5" x 4"

Description: Antique American 13 Star Parade Flag. Possibly from the 1876 Centennial Exhibition held in Philadelphia as this was found in New Jersey just over the bridge from Philly. Cotton gauze / muslin with coated front side. Medallion pattern. Flag measures approximately 2 3/8" x 3 3/4" (as printed). Wood stick measures 7 7/8". It is a thinner stick - +/- 1/8" across. Will ship flat. Flag was purchased in a large lot of antique/vintage parade flags most of which have already sold. Item does show wear. The white has now yellowed. There are stains here and there on the field and the backside of the canton-shown in many pictures. There is a fairly firmly creased area in the upper right corner-shown front and back in many pictures. Flag lies sort of flat, but does have waves throughout especially near the stick. Stick has discolorations, imperfections and a missing section (appears to be original or very old as the color is consistent with the rest of the stick-picture #17), but has not been broken or shortened. Item is generally clean, but as this is a used item, should not be considered pristine and new owner may wish to do further nook and cranny cleaning/dusting/polishing. See pictures for more details.
