Description: Antique WILCOX Meriden Britannia International STERLING Master BUTTER KNIFE Click images to enlarge Description ANTIQUE MASTER BUTTER KNIFE Lovely antique sterling silver master butter knife measuring 7-1/3" long - weight is 39.5 grams. Featuring a graceful, canted knife decorated with a Ginko leaf floral design, it is faintly monogrammed with a "D", and bears an Indian head with feather plus "STERLING". Marked was used by WILCOX & EVERTSEN, New York, from 1889 to 1896 when company was bought by Meriden Britannia, which later became International. Condition is lovely with no nicks, cracks or damage - in certain light, I can see the slightest, faint, lift on the very end - does not detract - typical usage wear to the blade with fine scratching - could use a bit of a polish, but retains the warm, original finish.
