Description: Up for grabs is a strange, unique, and possibly OOAK (one-of-a-kind) vintage Breyer horse! She is on Saddlebred Weanling (mold #62, sculpted by Marvin Morrin, introduced in 1973), which is Traditional scale but smaller than regular models that scale since it depicts a young weanling. She is the version produced after 1985; her tail tip is not attached to her body (while prior to 1985, this mold's tail tip was attached to the body). This mysterious girl is a mostly unpainted "whiteware" model with glossy black eyes. The way her eyes are sloppily applied draws me to believe she is a cull; a model that became flawed/damaged on the production line and was disposed of. These unfinished models sometimes leave the factory with employees and then are found by collectors. I believe it possible that she was going to be made into a flocked rocking horse (produced in 1985 for JCPenney or Sears holiday catalog). Why? (1) The time this version of the mold was produced was the same year that Breyer produced flocked rocking horses on the mold. (2) There is a weird smooth, and seemingly too long, stump at the root of her tail; my theory is that this was to make the tail easier to remove to replace for the mohair tail of a rocking horse. This model was purchased secondhand, so I do not know her backstory. It isn't possible to truly know what the deal is with her, but it is a fun thing to guess at! She will make a curious addition to a collection. The plastic that this horse is made out of is heavily yellowed; she is a buttery-yellow color, not white. Her mold seams don't seem to be entirely sanded (another indicator of her being a cull/factory defect), so she looks kind of messy. There are also some strange glossy areas on her body; it might look sticky but it is not; it is smooth. The gloss could be described as having a "glazed" appearance. I am unsure why this is there/if it original finish. Remember, while I find it unlikely, it is possible that this is a flawed/custom stripped model, so please use your own opinion when considering purchasing this model. This girl has marks on her body, and her eyes have paint rubs. There also appears to be a dark mark beneath/inside of the plastic; see photo #4. She overall has a somewhat "dirty" appearance. There are marks/dust in the crevices. Please note there may be other flaws I missed. While she is not in "good" condition, this model will make an interesting display piece!
