M48 Patton is an American first-generation main battle tank (MBT) introduced in February 1952 designated as 90 mm Gun Tank: M48. Its turret rotates 360 degrees that raises and lowers. It was designed as a replacement for M26 Pershing, M4 Sherman, and M26 and M47 Patton tanks, and was main battle tank of U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam War. Nearly 12,000 M48s were built from 1952 to 1961. M48 Patton was first U.S. medium gun tank with a four-man crew, featuring a centerline driver's compartment and no bow machine gunner. Like other Corgi Vietnam vehicle series, M48 A3 Patton has been “muddied” to give it a more weathered appearance. I am downsizing and listing/selling on EBay some of my personal collection.
