Description: This Shell Desk Lamp in baby blue is fully tested and works as it should. The original white cord is discolored from age but does not require rewiring. The lacquered finish is in overall good condition, with a few minor blemishes along the top, as shown in photos. There is no fading to the lamp. The lacquer does not have an overall perfect finish, there are some slight inconsistencies from manufacturing. It stands approximately 15.25” tall with an “S” shaped stem. It’s approximately 10” from the back of the “S” to the front of the shell. The shell is approximately 7.25”x7”. The base is about 5.5” wide. The cord is just over 6 feet long. It takes a standard lightbulb. While researching this lamp, some people have put it is from the 1950s and some have put the 1970s. With the cord and socket style, I believe it to be from the 1970s. This lamp was plugged in and tested for approximately 3 hours to ensure the wiring or socket are not faulty. The lamp did not dim or turn off and the cord did not get hot. Using a modern bulb, the top of the lamp did not get hot either.
