Description: I find the cup on this one fascinating, very organic and definitely art nouveau style. It is tapered upward with a slightly bulbous body that straightens up and then flares again very subtly close to the top. Give it the shape of a flower bud. The rim has a gold decoration and just under it is an impressed Greek key pattern which encircles the rim and is slightly wavy to correspond with the thin gold line underneath it. Just under that and at the bottom are incised rays reaching up and down toward the body of the cup. The cup is decorated with a hand painted floral spray which goes around the outside and interior of the cup. It is also footed with the base being a little wavy. The handle of the cup is crooked and somewhat segmented like a branch. It has gold decoration on one side but not on the other. There are also a few gold hashmarks on the outermost side of it.The saucer is decorated similarly and has a delicate scalloped rim. It measures 4-5/8" diameter. The cup is just under 3" tall and about 2-3/8" diameter at the rim. The porcelain is very thin on this one and translucent. The cup has no mark on the bottom that I can tell. The saucer has a red ink stamp that identifies it as Theodore Haviland, Limoges, France. The mark corresponds very closely to the decorator mark N which dates to 1895. The images that I have found of the mark however are drawn and not photographed. The difference is Theo vs Theodore. Any input on the mark or dating is always appreciated. Thank you for taking a look! Hopefully you'll check out my other items. I'm a long term picker who has specialized in antiques and collectibles for over 20 years and look for something a little different, hence the name. I've been a warehouse and restaurant manager so understand how to pack for success and give good customer service. Feel free to look at my feedback page. I do work full time, hence the three day shipping allowance, but I do try to get them out the next day when possible. It also makes me sometimes slower than I'd like answering questions or putting on new items, but I will get back to you as soon as I can and try not to be lazy about getting listings on. Thanks for looking and feel free to write me with any questions or new information about my items. It sometimes gets difficult to exactly identify something and I appreciate feedback and comments from the eBay community! Have a great day and happy hunting!
