ORIGINAL MANHATTAN PROJECT WORKER CERTIFICATE with ENVELOPE

Description: This is an original certificate awarded to a worker on the Manhattan Project. This particular certificate was awarded to an employee of the Roane-Anderson Company, the civilian company hired by the Government to oversee managing, operating, and maintaining virtually every aspect of the "secret city" of Oak Ridge, TN during WWII. The name "Roane-Anderson" references that parts of the Oak Ridge facility were located in both Roane and Anderson counties. Includes the original mailing envelope postmarked in Oak Ridge TN, at 6:30 PM on February 19, 1946. The name on the envelope matches the name on the certificate. I have not researched Mr. DeVault. The certificate measures about 8 1/2" x 11".
