Description: Made in USA at Ragland Piano Company, Texarkana Texas. Accurate to within +/- 0.001" 8 Sizes of Key Dip blocks, used to measure downward key travel ("key dip"). An important part of action regulation - too little travel and the hammers will double strike, too much dip and the hammers will block. There are other causes for those problems but dip is a very common cause. If you are replacing any felt under the keybed you will need these blocks to measure and make certain the keydip has been set back to spec (or close). These are used after the keys are level - place a block on top of a natural key and press the key down - add or remove some of the paper/cardboard shims under the front rail punching until the top of the keydip block is level with the adjacent keys and the keydip will have been set to the number stamped on the front of the dip block. Besides the standard 3/8", 13/32" and 7/16" blocks we techs have been using for years, I've also made several sizes common for Steinway work. Specs for Steinway grands call for keydip anywhere between .390" and .420" so I've included those sizes as well as the between sizes in .010" increments.
