Description: Singer & Co Aesthetic Hand Colored Floral Relief Molded Plate Circa 1891 - 1918 Very pretty porcelain plate in the shape of a flower. Nicely decorated with hand colored flowers in white, yellow and pink with green leaves and gold gilt highlights over a white background with pink border. Has clouded gold gilding along the petal edge. Marked on the back with a pattern number L247 91. Also marked S & CO Austria with a shield with arm and sword. This mark was used by Singer & Co, probably between 1891 and 1918. Singer & Company formed in 1885. The Austria in the mark indicates this was probably produced after the McKinley Tariff Act in 1890. Springer was one of the founders of the EPIAG porcelain association in 1918 and the mark used after that included EPIAG. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 9 1/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece. BT
