Description: Offered here is " The Idiot: A Novel In Four Parts " by Fyodor Dostoevsky, in a limited edition published by George Macy Companies in 1956 for members of the Limited Editions Club of New York. This limited edition is numbered the 947th copy of the 1500 copies that were printed. This copy is signed by the illustrator, Fritz Eichenberg. This edition includes many black and white wood-engraved illustrations. This text was translated from the original Russian into English by Constance Garnett. This hardcover book is in Very Good Plus condition. The book has dark red covers with a gilt and silver embossed illustration on the cover and the gilt title along the spine. The covers have minimal edge wear and shelf wear, with only age fading along the spine of note. The book block is speckled in red and black. The pages are all clean, unmarked, and tightly bound. This book also comes in its original slipcase which is in Good condition. The slipcase has noticeable shelf and edge wear, resulting in some tearing and small loss of materials, as well as significant age fading.
