Description: Vauen 3214 Smooth Pot Estate Briar Pipe Unsmoked, 9mm Vauen 3214 Smooth Pot Estate Briar Pipe Unsmoked, 9mm Vauen stems from Germany’s oldest tobacco pipe manufacturing company, tracing its roots back to the founding partnership of Karl Ellenberger and Carl August Ziener in Nuremberg, 1848. Out of the Ellenberger-Ziener partnership soon came the Vauen make itself, which grew to become Germany’s largest and most enduring pipe brand – a title that it continues to hold to this day. This Vauen is a distinctly German rendition of the traditional pot shape, albeit one with perhaps more than a little influence from Danish masters such as Sixten Ivarsson (Stanwells shape 11 springs to mind). As with many German pipes, it is a decidedly broad and squat shape, giving it a satisfying hand-feel. This pipe features an original p-lip style stem, which Vauen and other makes, such as Savinelli, explored in the 20th century. This Vauen is completely unsmoked, with a factory-original bowl coating to help ease in its first smokes. It also comes with its original sleeve. The pipe, like most Vauens, is chambered for 9mm filters, but adapters can be purchased that will allow it to be smoked without one.
