Description: This is rather beautiful - and it actually works :) I'm not used to tube amplifiers, the tubes make a bit of heat :) The tubes look like many of them are original FISHER brand tubes, see photos. This is tested although not exhaustively here's what I tested:The backlights for the receiver turn on :)The tuning tube turns on and shows the moving blue bars for FM receptionThe FM tuning works and plays clean sound out of L and R channels at 8 ohmsThe "tape head" input works and takes an RCA input and makes clean sound out of L and R inputsThe balance worksThe balance co-centric potentiometers for the Treble adjustment work independentlyThe balance co-centric potentiometers for the BASS adjustment work poorly and are hard to move independently and probably need cleaningIt runs fine I tested it for over 40 minutes no issues with basic sound reproductionI will respond to input about packing but my plan would be to remove at least the large 7868 tubes (4x) and put those in a separate bubble wrap and box and then double box the heavy chassis separately. There are a lot of photos so that you can survey the condition. The front panel looks pretty although you can see that a few of the decorative fronts of the potentiometers are missing. There is a little bit of superficial corrosion or at least glue and stuff which might be from the factory on the large heavy Transformers:) this is from a dry Eastern Washington climate so it has not suffered from much moisture issue One picture of the wiring on the bottom - its the last picture. I gently took off four of the screws holding on the bottom plate and took a peek inside and I can't guarantee anything but it looks original and the screws seemed very tight as if the bottom cover had never been off :) Enjoy
