Description: Lovely Art Deco Era (1930's) Whiting & Davis Alumesh Handbag. Ivory Color enameled mesh beads. The purse has a double handles, with a 7" drop. Opens & closes easily with a spring hinged frame. The inside is lined with a black tiny ribbed cotton fabric, with one open pocket, with an attached tag that reads: 'Alumesh Whiting & Davis Co.Bags Made in U.S.A. Patent 28,124. The patent was granted in 1929. The bag is in very good vintage, pre-owned & used condition. There is some wearing on the color of the beads, especially on the handles. The lining is in very good condition. The 'tag' is frayed. Measurements of the handbag are: 10" long, 9 1/4" high, and can expand to about 2" or so on the bottom base. Empty the bag lays flat. The 'beads' are about 1/4" in size. The bag weighs around 12 oz A lovely bag from the 1930's & 40's, that is still very usable today!
